MWH President and COO to Share Perspectives on Water Scarcity at Sustainable Opportunities Summit in Denver

Broomfield, Colo., Feb. 5, 2010Alan Krause, president and chief operating officer of MWH, the global wet infrastructure sector leader and provider of environmental engineering, construction and strategic consulting services, will speak at the 2010 Sustainable Opportunities Summit in Denver, March 2-4, on the subject of water scarcity and new approaches for securing clean water. Krause will share insights based on his 30 years of natural resources experience during the March 4 panel discussion “Water: The Next Oil.”

“Water scarcity and access to clean water are growing issues for communities around the world,” Krause said. “We’ve treated water as an infinite resource, but climate change, population growth, usage practices and energy-intensive technologies are contributing to a global water crisis. That’s why MWH is focused on working with organizations and communities to create sustainable approaches to conserving water – the world’s irreplaceable resource.”

“We are delighted that Alan will be joining us at the Summit to address water shortage challenges and solutions,” said Graham Russell, executive director of CORE (Connected Organizations for a Responsible Economy), host of the Summit.  “We expect over 500 attendees who are truly interested in sustainability as a driving economic force, and are anxious to hear how businesses that embrace economic responsibility now for a sustainable future are creating long-term competitive advantage for their organizations.”

The 2010 Sustainable Opportunities Summit and Expo features 19 panel sessions and 70 speakers. Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper will provide opening Summit remarks on “Denver, Gateway to Regional Sustainability” on March 3. Colorado Gov.
