Jim Kuiken Senior Vice President and Executive Projects Officer

Jim Kuiken is Senior Vice President and Executive Projects Officer for MWH Global, headquartered in Broomfield, Colorado. Mr. Kuiken has been with MWH for nearly 25 years, and is currently charged with executing strategic initiatives worldwide on behalf of the Chairman/CEO and President/COO.
Mr. Kuiken joined the organization as an engineer with JMM Consulting Engineers (the U.S. predecessor of MWH) before becoming a Vice President and Manager of the regional office in Denver. In this role, he was instrumental in the successful completion of numerous water, wastewater and water resources projects in the western U.S. Mr. Kuiken has held numerous leadership roles critical to the strategic growth and development of the MWH organization and its employees. As Vice President and Assistant to the President of the Americas region, he developed and implemented MWH University, a leading in-house educational initiative that continues to successfully provide educational programs to employees worldwide. He led the operations team in selecting and implementing the company's first enterprise-wide financial management system and was a key member of the team that sold, negotiated and established the MWH organization's first water program management business in the U.K. As President of the Asia-China operation, he instituted best management practices throughout the region and refocused MWH's business to align with corporate strategy. Mr. Kuiken also established the first ethics function of MWH as Chief of Claims and Ethics Compliance. He currently plays a lead role in negotiating mergers and acquisitions, having served in a key liaison role during the integration of Harza, most recently leading the successful acquisition of Wallingford Software.

As trusted advisor for external clients and organizational leadership alike, Mr. Kuiken has maintained some client relationships for more than 20 years by providing innovative solutions and anticipating client needs.
Outside of the office, Mr. Kuiken enjoys fly fishing, sailing, skiing and home remodelling projects. He currently lives in Fort Collins, Colorado with his wife of 35 years.
Mr. Kuiken earned a bachelor's in engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology, an MSCE in hydraulics and water resources from Purdue University and an MBA from the University of Denver.
