Paul Boulos is president of Innovyze, headquartered in Broomfield, Colorado. He oversees the worldwide operation and strategic planning and innovations for the organization, with an avid focus on building and maintaining client partnerships.
Dr. Boulos is proud to serve in the environmental engineering profession, working on projects that bring benefit to the greater good. He empowers his colleagues to give back to communities and people around the world through education, leading by example and furthering the MWH purpose of Building a Better World.
Dr. Boulos has held numerous leadership positions within the organization, including his most recent service as president of the Middle East region. He has also served as the corporate director of intellectual property, global water technology leader and project manager on several large water projects around the world.
Dr. Boulos is one of the world’s foremost experts on water resources and navigation engineering, authoring nine authoritative books and more than 200 technical papers on issues critical to the water and wastewater industry. He is the recipient of numerous honors from national and international scientific and engineering societies, government and research organizations and NGOs. Among his acknowledgements are notable technical awards for excellence in scholarship from the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), the American Water Works Association (AWWA) and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA). He also received the ASCE Parcel-Sverdrup Civil Engineering Management Award; the U.S. Ellis Island Medal of Honor, one of America’s highest accolades; the Pride of Heritage Award from the Lebanese American Foundation; the Alumni of the Year Award by the Lebanese American University; and was inducted into the University of Kentucky College of Engineering Hall of Distinction, the most prestigious honor given by the university to its alumni. He was also awarded Honorary Diplomate status (Hon.D.WRE) by the American Academy of Water Resources Engineers (AAWRE) as well as Distinguished Diplomate status (Dist.D.NE) in Navigation Engineering by the Academy of Coastal, Ocean, Port & Navigation Engineers (ACOPNE), both academies’ top honors. He is a Diplomate (by Eminence) of the American Academy of Environmental Engineers and Scientists (AAEES) and was elected to the grade of Distinguished Member of ASCE (Dist.M.ASCE), the Society’s most esteemed honor (bestowed to only 637 engineers in the 163-year history of ASCE). He was also elected to the National Academy of Engineering (NAE), the highest professional distinction accorded to an engineer.
Dr. Boulos serves on the Board of Trustees of the Lebanese American University (Beirut, Lebanon) and was unanimously elected as its chairman on September 14, 2012 , the American Academy of Water Resources Engineers (Reston, VA) and was unanimously named as its chairman-elect on October 13, 2012, and the Academy of Coastal, Ocean, Port & Navigation Engineers (Reston, VA); the Boards of Directors of America-Mideast Educational and Training Services, Inc./AMIDEAST (Washington, D.C.) and chairs its Lebanon Advisory Board since September 27, 2011; the ASCE Industry Leaders Council (Reston, VA); the Advisory Group for the Center of Engineering, Ethics, and Society (CEES) as well as the Audit and Civil Engineering Peer Committees at the National Academy of Engineering (Washington, D.C.); the Dean’s International Council of the Harris School of Public Policy Studies at the University of Chicago (Chicago, IL); the Corporate Advisory Board of Wharton Initiative for Global Environmental Leadership at the University of Pennsylvania (Philadelphia, PA); and the American Council of Engineering Companies Design Professionals Coalition. He has been a member of advisory boards and councils for many organizations, including the Buck Advisory Council of the Buck Institute for Research on Aging (Novato, CA), the Lynx Investment Advisory, LLC (Washington, D.C.), the Arab American National Museum (Dearborn, MI), the USEPA Science Advisory Board, and the National Academy of Sciences/National Research Council. Dr. Boulos has a bachelor degree in general science from the Lebanese American University, as well as bachelor, master and doctorate degrees in civil engineering from the University of Kentucky, and has completed the Advanced Management Program at Harvard University.
Dr. Boulos currently resides in Colorado with his wife and daughter. Outside of the office he enjoys fishing, swimming and basketball.
