The acquisition enhances the leading position of MWH in the design, construction and program management of water and wastewater facilities for the U.K. water industry
Heywood, U.K. – MWH Global (“MWH”), the global wet infrastructure sector leader and provider of environmental engineering, construction and strategic consulting services, announced that it has completed its acquisition of Biwater Services Limited from Biwater Holdings Limited. Acting as the holding company for Biwater Treatment, Farrer Consulting and BiProduct Recovery, Biwater Services is a leading U.K. process engineering company specialising in the water, waste water and environmental services sectors. Biwater Services and its joint venture partners have been awarded a number of framework contracts for U.K. water companies with anticipated revenues of $3 billion over the AMP5 Programme cycle.
“The addition of the Biwater Services expertise to the MWH portfolio of services meets the desire of MWH to be a complete capability firm in the area of wet infrastructure, allowing us to better service the full asset life cycle of our clients from feasibility through commissioning and operation. In addition, Biwater Services is known for its long history of successful re-competes for framework contracts under the U.K. Asset Management Programme,” said Robert B. Uhler, chairman and CEO of MWH Global. “Together, we are committed to our clients and partners in the AMP5 cycle and believe this new union will give us the agility we need to be responsive to market changes.”
With Heywood as the centre of the company’s construction operation, the integration of the two companies will begin immediately and will be led by Joseph Adams, president of MWH Constructors. All Biwater Services companies will take on the MWH name.
The intended acquisition was first announced on November 19, 2010.
