MWH Constructors Awarded Bronze Hard Hat Award for Design-Build Project at Colorado’s Peterson Air Force Base

Broomfield, Colo., Oct. 15, 2009 – MWH, the global wet infrastructure sector leader and provider of environmental engineering, construction and strategic consulting services, has been honored with a Bronze Hard Hat Award by Colorado Construction for its construction work on the US Army Corps of Engineers’ Arrival/Departure Airfield Control Group (A/DACG) & Individual Readiness Company Building at Peterson Air Force Base in Colorado Springs, Colo. The US Army Corps of Engineers served as the designer on the design-build team.

The Gold, Silver and Bronze Hard Hat awards recognize the best projects completed by firms in Colorado, Kansas, Nebraska, North Dakota and South Dakota. The project entries are judged by a panel of industry experts based on overall excellence, project management, teamwork, quality, innovation, craftsmanship and the project’s contribution to the community and the industry. This recognition follows an award received earlier this year from the Corps's Omaha District, honoring MWH Constructors with the Contractor Safety and Occupational Health “Gold” award for their outstanding safety performance on the A/DACG project.

The $23 million A/DACG & Individual Readiness Company Building project, which was completed in March 2009, encompassed design and construction of 24,000 square feet of administrative offices, briefing and holding areas, full-service kitchen and eating areas, restrooms, 5,600 square feet of armament and equipment storage, maintenance bays and three multi-purpose rooms for troop training and debriefing.

“MWH Constructors is extremely honored to receive this recognition for the work our team completed and the outstanding results of their dedication to bring the project in safely, on time and on budget,” said Joseph D. Adams, President of MWH Constructors. ”We always set high standards in delivering innovative design, quality construction and efficient processes to our clients, and this award helps affirm our commitment.”

MWH Constructors is the at-risk construction arm of MWH Global, Inc. and has received numerous awards, including being named one of the nation’s safest contractors by the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC).
