MWH has opened its office in Pegasus House, at Solihull Business Park, to service its existing customers in the Midlands, as well as acting as the focus for developing new business opportunities in the region.
Richard Armitage, 55, who will be running the new Solihull office, explains: "MWH's UK head office is in Warrington and we have offices at 11 other locations around the UK. These are home to over 1,300 staff providing services to water, energy, infrastructure and government clients. We’ve been planning to open an office in the Midlands for some time and Solihull Business Park is the ideal location."
"We have a number of customers in the Midlands including Severn Trent Water, South Staffordshire Water, National Grid, Defence Estates and the Environment Agency, and as well as servicing these customers the new office is strategically based to enable us to develop new business."
As well as staff serving the needs of water industry customers in the region, there will also be staff from the company’s Natural and Built Environment department providing a range of environmental services including planning, environmental assessments, land quality, waste management and sustainability. Members of the corporate team will also be based at the Solihull office, including the company’s Director of Risk Management and Legal Services.
Richard has worked for MWH for 19 years and has just returned from four years in the Middle East. Based in Jordan, he managed MWH’s operations in countries including Syria, Yemen, Iraq and the Palestinian Authority, as well as Jordan itself.
Previously based in MWH's office in High Wycombe, Richard and his wife Nina will be moving to the Midlands shortly.
"We will initially employ 40 people in the Solihull office, rising to 70 around the middle of next year, and look forward to working with existing and new customers in the West Midlands and beyond", concluded Richard.
