MWH Wins 2008 DBIA Distinguished Design-Build Award

Broomfield, Colorado, December 10, 2008 - MWH, a global provider of environmental engineering, construction and strategic consulting services, has won The Design-Build Institute of America's (DBIA) 2008 Design-Build Award and the Distinguished Design-Build Award for its Steubenville Water Treatment Plant in Steubenville, Ohio. The prestigious annual National Design-Build Awards competition highlights successful design-build projects in the Ohio Valley across all sectors. This distinguished award is presented to the top design-build project in the tri-state area of Ohio, Kentucky and West Virginia.

Bruce Williams, Steubenville's City Manager, summarized the project with the following statement: "MWH did not exceed the cost and has actually delivered a higher quality of water than their contract required…Our water customers, of course, have become the beneficiaries of the most modern, technically advanced water treatment plant in the State of Ohio."

DBIA presented the Ohio Valley Region awards during a banquet on October 9 in Covington, Kentucky. MWH's Tom Ungar and Steubenville Mayor Domenick Mucci, Jr. accepted the awards.
