Alicia Romero is a Chemical Engineering with 17 years of experience in the environmental area, focusing mainly on developing Environmental Impact Assessments, Mine Closure Plans, ISO 14000 Implementation, Environmental Management, and Environmental Audits.
In the mining sector, she worked for a major mining company as Head of the Potable Water and Wastewater Treatment Plant, also performing duties as Project Lead in Engineering Management, Environmental Internal Auditor, Monitoring Program Implementation Lead, Environmental Coordinator in Engineering Management, and being responsible for the ISO 14000 implementation and certification in this department.
As an MWH consultant, she has lead several environmental studies for different industries (mining, transportation, sanitation, and energy) and for important mining companies. Her experience includes: developing baseline studies in preparation of a closure plan, environmental impact assessments and environmental assessments; update of the environmental management plan. Additionally, she participated in environmental audits for mining units in Mexico.
Mrs. Romero currently holds the position of Environmental Management Lead for MWH in Peru, standing out as Project Manager in different environmental studies.
