Australian Prime Minister, the Hon. Malcom Turnbull MP, recently visited Engineers Australia to meet with young, talented engineers who are working on innovative projects that have the capacity to be exported overseas.
MWH Global Australia Environmental Engineer Jane La Nauze was invited to participate in this high level presentation by Engineers Australia because her work has been recognised as being critical to the innovation that will drive Australia’s economic prosperity into the future.
La Nauze had an opportunity to briefly discuss some of her own work with the Prime Minister and she had the following to say about the day: “What a great but whirlwind of an experience to have been involved in!”
The Prime Minister used the opportunity to discuss pressing topics within the engineering industry in Australia such as the need to address diversity in engineering, the decline in students studying core subjects at high school such as maths and science and also the need to support innovation in Australia among other topics.
MWH Global were among 10 engineering firms represented on the day alongside university representatives and various media members.
