Huge congratulations to the Bakewell STW project who were recently awarded Gold in at the Considerate Constructors Scheme (CCS) National Site Awards 2017. The awards were held in Manchester on Thursday, March 23rd, and is the second year in a row MWH Treatment as a company have received Gold there.
This is a fantastic achievement for the team as the CCS recognizes those sites that have been exemplary in raising awareness for considerate construction and improving the image of the construction industry. The CCS take into account how much the public, the workforce and the environment were factored in when the construction project began.
The team were awarded for their attention to site presentation and excellent standards with signage, dress code and branding which all contributed to making a positive impression to all visitors. They were also environmentally sensitive of the area having fully researched and understood the comprehensive measures that had to be put in place.
The site used the safety improvement suggestion scheme as a way to raise funds for local causes with contributions being matched-funded by subcontractors. Additionally there was excellent training available and a support network for apprenticeships and people new to the industry. They really went above and beyond to make the Bakewell STW a standard bearer for MWH Treatment.
Collecting the award for the Bakewell team was Phil Dunn (Senior Site Manager), Simon Lewis (Works Manager) and Ben Bailey (Foreman). They and their team should be hugely proud of their achievement since the CCS only award those sites at the pinnacle of considerate construction.
Phil Dunn said “I thank the CCS in helping us to continually look at improving things that we once thought were acceptable standards. Everybody on the project team played their part in achieving this Gold award.”
This site is a huge credit to MWH Treatment and further reflective of the care and consideration we take when approaching our construction projects. Thank you to the CCS for acknowledging our team’s fantastic work and effort and let’s make it a hat trick of Gold awards next year!
