The Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department (WASD) and MWH, now part of Stantec, have recently signed two agreements for consulting and engineering services. The $.8.8 million USD repair and rehabilitation contract extension and the $16.5 million USD hydrogeological and engineering services award are the latest pieces of work in our more than 30-year history working together to meet the water and sewer needs of the 2.3 million people within Miami-Dade County, Florida.
The six-year repair and rehabilitation contract extension will build upon related work our firm has done with WASD over the past seven years, by providing engineering services for the proposed upgrades to the Miami-Dade Central District Wastewater Treatment Plant and its appurtenant facilities including pump stations 1 and 2.
The hydrogeological contract will cover consultation and engineering related to WASD’s well fields, injection wells and aquifer storage and recovery wells, which can include geochemical studies, groundwater modeling, monitoring, testing, permitting, design, specialized hydrogeologic oversight during construction and other services as needed.
According to Luis Casado, Southeast Regional Manager for MWH, now part of Stantec, credits our past successful partnerships and our firm’s breadth of services for these new awards.
“Our service delivery model has always been shaped to deliver the globe’s best expertise on a local basis, and that means developing deep and successful relationships in the communities where we operate,” said Casado. “We have a long history of delivering on-time and on-budget, which gives our clients great confidence to continue our work together. Likewise, Miami-Dade has been an outstanding client to partner with again and again, and together we are able to create real benefit for the community.”
