MWH Treatment are delighted to be a part of the fourth BIM conference in partnership with British Water on Thursday, March 30th 2017 at Villa Park in Birmingham, UK.
BIM (Building Information Modelling) is the exciting way forward for the water sector and we are already seeing it being developed throughout the supply chain. We hope to really move BIM forward into the mainstream and this conference will put it clearly how beneficial the latest digital technologies will be for our industry.
First of all, you might be asking what is Business Information Modelling? BIM is a process that involves creating and using an intelligent 3D model to inform and communicate project decisions. Design, visualisation, simulation and collaboration enabled by BIM provide greater clarity for all stakeholders across the project lifecycle. BIM makes it easier to achieve project and business goals.
Connecting the asset project world and the asset operations world is the key to realising the full potential of BIM. A conference like this will help bring these together, as we share our vision of the future of the water industry and by showcasing company successes that have involved BIM, we aim to make this vision all the clearer.
People from the industry that are pushing BIM forward will detail what it could deliver in the future and analyse data from those that have used it. Additionally we welcome speakers from Skanska and British Water and Keynote address from Dr. Scott Steedman CBE, BSI.
MWH Treatment Engineering Director and Chairman of BIM4Water Andrew Cowell will be host for the conference and is looking forward to what the future holds. “Water industry BIM practice has moved a long way since our first conference, now some great examples and a real vision are emerging. This conference will look at current and future benefits of BIM and why we see it at such an important part of our industry.”
The day will consist of talks around the BIM “Successes of Today and Vision for Tomorrow”, as well as Q&A sessions, networking lunches and facilitated workshops where any issues raised can be discussed. The day is focused around showcasing and understanding just how influential BIM is on the water industry.
MWH Treatment is expecting the BIM conference to be a fantastic and thought provoking day. If we can move BIM forward into the mainstream then we will be helping the future of our industry. We hope you will be part of it with us.
